Frequently asked questions

Answers to the questions clients ask most often before the first meeting.

How do I book a first meeting?

Call +381 65 219 2946 or send an enquiry through the form on the Contact page. In the enquiry, briefly describe what it is about without confidential details, and you will get a reply at the contact you leave.

What should I bring to the first meeting?

Your ID or passport and all documents relating to your case: contracts, decisions, summonses, claims, correspondence. If you are unsure what matters, bring everything and we will go through it together.

How are legal fees determined?

Fees are set in a written representation agreement, in line with the Bar's tariff for lawyers' fees and expenses. The amount depends on the type of case, its complexity and the amount of work. You receive a clear written agreement before work begins.

Can a lawyer guarantee the outcome?

No. The outcome depends on the facts, the evidence and the decision of the body handling the case, so no lawyer can promise it in advance. A lawyer can explain your legal position, the risks and the options.

Is what I tell a lawyer confidential?

Yes. A lawyer must keep as a professional secret everything learned from the client in connection with the matter, and this duty continues after the engagement ends.

Can I email documents before the meeting?

You can, but do not send confidential information until we have agreed on representation. To start, a short description of your situation is enough; bring the documents to the meeting.

How long does a case take?

It depends on the type of proceedings, their complexity, the workload of the authority and the conduct of other parties. After reviewing your documents, a rough outline of the stages is possible, but not an exact deadline.

Do you represent clients outside Belgrade?

The office is in Belgrade, and representation is possible before competent authorities across Serbia. Whether it is practical depends on the matter and is agreed in advance.

What if I am not sure whether I need a lawyer?

Many people come simply to find out where they stand and which deadlines apply. At the first meeting we assess whether you need representation or just advice.

In which languages are consultations held?

In Serbian and English. If translation into another language is needed, a court-certified interpreter can be arranged.

Can a foreigner hire a lawyer in Serbia remotely?

Yes, a power of attorney can be arranged for use in Serbia, and some matters can be started remotely. The requirements for foreign documents and certification depend on your country, so ask before travelling.

Can I change lawyers during the case?

Yes. A client can revoke a power of attorney at any time, and fees for work already done are settled according to the agreement.
